Data Usage Policy

1. Purpose of This Policy

This Data Usage Policy summarises, in plain language, what data the Vishwakarma Matrimonial app collects, how it is used, and the controls available to you. It complements our full Privacy Policy and aligns with app store data-safety requirements.

2. Data We Collect & Why

Identity & profile (name, gender, date of birth, photos, community, education, occupation, location, family and partner preferences) — to build your profile and find compatible matches.

Contact details (mobile, email) — for account security, notifications, and, for premium members, to enable contact between matched members.

Verification media (selfies/documents) — used solely to verify identity and never displayed publicly.

Payment data — processed by our payment partner (Razorpay) to complete membership purchases. We do not store your full card details.

Device & usage data (push tokens, log data) — to deliver notifications, secure the account, and improve the app.

3. How Data Is Shared

We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with service providers that operate core features (payments, SMS/OTP, push notifications) and where required by law. Your profile is shared with other members according to your privacy settings.

4. Data Security

Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, access is restricted, and sensitive actions are audit-logged. Screenshots are restricted within the app to protect members' photos and contact details.

5. Your Controls

You can edit your profile and privacy settings, manage notifications, and request data help anytime. You can permanently delete your account and associated data from Settings → Delete Account.

6. Retention

Active-account data is kept while your account exists. After deletion, personal data is removed from active systems, except records we must retain for legal or financial compliance.
